Celtics Friday: Not Calm, Cool, nor Collected

On February 5th, I wrote and published an article all about how the Celtics have a hopeful outlook for a title.

What the heck has happened since then?

After the Celtics lost 129-119 to the Clippers yesterday, making their 3rd loss in a row (previously to the Cavs on Sunday and the Pacers on Friday), Celtics fans have gotten a little more nervous. The Celtics also had two blowout losses to the East’s other two elite teams, the Cavaliers and the Raptors. The Raptors (41-16) are currently the first in the Eastern Conference while the Cavaliers(34-22) are third. The Celtics sit at second (40-19).

Some positive thoughts include remembering that the Celtics are only one win behind the Raptors at 40-19, and all without Gordon Hayward. However, the Raptors are on a 7 game win streak, and the Celtics are on an L3. Kyrie thinks the team needs to refocus and maintain their energy, and head coach Brad Stevens has commented on focusing on getting the C’s back on their A-game. I think we all agree.

The Celtics play the Pistons next Friday at 7:00pm, who are 28-29 and 9th in the Eastern Conference. I am hopeful the Celtics will break this lose streak and pick up a win after the All-Star break, or Celtics fans can start actually getting mad.
