Jets Clinch Playoff Berth

Two of the hottest teams in the NHL battled it out to see who would take home two points last night. The Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators could not decide a winner in regulation or overtime so the game went on to a shootout where the Jets took home the extra point to clinch a berth in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Jets have put together their best season in team history, recording 102 points so far. Last season they only recorded 87 points and sat 5th in the Central Division. This season they’re 2nd in the Central Division, trailing only to the Nashville Predators. What has made this team have it’s best season in the organizations history?

Well for one, they have a stellar lineup. Patrik Laine contributes almost every single game, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has done his part in goal to help boost this Jets team. They have a pretty solid all-around roster. With Laine, Ehlers, Wheeler, and Scheifele leading the offense, this team is hard to beat. Byfuglien, Kulikov, Myers, and Trouba bolster their defense and make it hard for opponents to penetrate the zone. And of course they have had stellar goaltender from Hellebuyck all season.

This team is going to be scary in the playoffs, they could be the team to beat in the Western Conference other than Nashville. The Jets management and coaching staff should be applauded for the team they have put together. The team has never had a season as good as this one and they have the potential to make it to the Cup finals this year.

This Jets team doesn’t quit and thats a great quality to have heading into the playoffs. With the 7 games left in the regular season, the Jets will face a very tough team in the Boston Bruins. Boston and Winnipeg will definitely put on a show for the fans and the game will have playoff like atmosphere. They will also face a tough customer in the Toronto Maple Leafs who would love to move into second place in the Atlantic Division. The other opponents include Chicago, Ottawa, Montreal, and Calgary, all of which are out of the playoffs.

The Jets have the potential to take over first in the Central and first in the league, can they do it?
