On the Court 2: The East

I LOVE to spice things up, guys. I am so glad I have the perfect lull in the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs on this fine game-less Monday to offer some rebuttal on opinions I have received this week, while still giving you guys a game-by-game recap of what is going on in the Eastern Conference right now.

Raptors vs Wizards

Right now, this series is tied 2-2 and faces a similar parallel to the Celtics/Bucks series. By that, I mean that the Raptors won first two games in Toronto, then the Wizards came back to win the  second two in Washington. They play again Wednesday in Toronto. As I said last week, the “Let’s go Raptors!” distracted the Wizards straight from tip-off in the first game of the series and I am sure that will happen again Wednesday night.

Opposed opinion: The Wizards did fine without John Wall.

Nina’s opinion: The Wizards were EXHAUSTED without him! He is averaging 26.8 points, 13 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals against the Raptors right now.

Cavs vs Pacers

This series is tied 2-2 with a fun pattern of Pacers winning in Cleveland (remember I said this is the first time that a LeBron James-led team has lost in the opening game of the opening series), then the Cavs winning at home. The pattern repeated itself as the Pacers won in Indianapolis then the Cavs won in Indianapolis. They match up again Wednesday at 7, and I would rather watch Raptors vs Wizards.

Opposed opinion: LeBron SUCKS.

Nina’s opinion: I am so sorry but if you think this, you are just plain not basing your opinion on stats. He’s the second leading scorer in the NBA, and he plays like 45 minutes of each game. The dude isn’t that bad, okay? Okay.

76ers vs Heat

This series is NOT tied, as the 76ers are up 3-1. The 76ers won game 1 in Philadelphia , the Heat won game 2 in Philadelphia, then the 76ers won next 2 in Miami. They play again Tuesday at 8. I still stand by the 76ers, and if you want a fun read, check out this super cute article by Christopher Kline in The Sixer Sense (haha!).

Opposed opinion: Kelly Olynyk sucks.

Nina’s opinion: He’s not very traditional, and he’s not very professional, but he is very cool and he does what he is supposed to do. Also, the people in Boston who think that we got “rid of him” are completely misunderstanding what Brad Stevens wanted to do with the Celtics this year. He does what he needs to do in Miami.

Celtics vs Bucks

This series is tied 2-2 with the Celtics winning the first two games in Boston and the Bucks taking second two in Milwaukee. They match up again Tuesday at 7. See more about my opinions on the Celtics here.

Opposed opinion: The Celtics were doomed the moment Gordon Hayward got injured.

Nina’s opinion: They’re second in the Eastern Conference with a team that consists of mostly bench players, nuff said.
