(Last?) Celtics Friday

There are quite a few things going through my mind right now, so naturally (if you’ve read my articles before) I’m going to make a list:

  1. During most of the season I refrained from making any kind of predictions- good or bad- just because I don’t trust myself and I am a little superstitious. However, I’ve been pretty good at predictions and conversations regarding this Celtics/Cavs series, so it’s safe to say (in my opinion) to not be super upset tonight when we lose and have to bring it back to Boston for Game 7. Also, stop tweeting “Celtics in 6”. It’s corny and unrealistic.
  2. Our road performance sucks, but we hold down the home court. The Celtics did celebrate a second round Game 3 win in overtime versus Philadelphia, but I’m not expecting that this time around.
  3. Remember that Bleacher Report picture I posted of LeBron pulling all of his team’s weight? Well, I was thinking about it, and it’s still true.
  4. Celtics REALLY need to win the Eastern Conference because it is going to physically hurt me to write about why the Cavs deserve to win (yes, this is a sneak peak at the fact that during the finals, I am going to have to defend the East while Tom defends the West for Sports Are from Venus).
  5. Finally, a breakdown of the series, finishing with my prediction:

Game 1 (Celtics, 108-83)

Cavs top scorer: Kevin Love

Celtics top scorer: Jaylen Brown

Game 2 (Celtics, 107-94)

Cavs top scorer: LeBron James

Celtics top scorer: Jaylen Brown

Game 3 (Cavs, 116-86)

Cavs top scorer: LeBron James

Celtics top scorer: Jayson Tatum

Game 4 (Cavs, 111, 102)

Cavs top scorer: LeBron James

Celtics top scorer: Jaylen Brown

Game 5 (Cavs, 116-86)

Cavs top scorer: LeBron James

Celtics top scorer: Jayson Tatum

Prediction:

Game 6 (Cavs 113-85 ish)

Cavs top scorer: LeBron James

Celtics top scorer: Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown

Game 7 (Celtics 115-90 ish)

Cavs top scorer: Kevin Love

Celtics top scorer: Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown

One response to “(Last?) Celtics Friday

  1. If the Finals is Houston-Boston then the East does have a chance. Stinks it is because if Chris Paul’s injury, but still, an arguable chance.
