Happy Pi Day!
Yes, Pi Day. This information along with some other ~ kewl ~ news surfaced in my 5th grade classroom today: apparently one of my students ran into Al Horford YESTERDAY after school at a local fire station. He told me that Horford was very polite and shook his hand and signed his pop-socket on his phone! Super cool. I was so touched that he prioritized telling me all about this first thing when he came into the classroom this morning.
I was super curious about this and if it was true (you know how kids can be) so I looked it up and found this brief article here. Apparently Horford visited the K Street fire station in South Boston with sponsorship from Dunkin Donuts. He hung out with the firefighters and played a friendly game of horse! After confirming with the student that this is where he saw Horford, the student casually showed me his picture of him side by side with the 6’10” power forward/ center!
More good news: the Celtics aren’t sucking as much as they used to be! They’re 5th in the Eastern Conference with a 41-27 record. The top 5 in the EC right now are dancing around the 40/50 games won while the Nets (#6) have 36-34. The gap is real.
The C’s play the Sacramento Kings tonight at 7:30. It should be n interesting matchup as Marvin Bagley III and Jayson Tatum should both see court time. The Kings have lost 7 of their last 10 games. The Celtics have lost 6 of their last 10 games.
