Last night the Celtics brought their win streak to 4 by beating the undefeated Bucks with an incredible 117-113 score. The Bucks are now 7-1 and the Celtics are at a solid 6-2. The MLB World Series Champions made an appearance with their newly acquired trophy, carried by manager Alex Cora. David Price was a fan favorite in the Garden as he pumped up the crowd before the game and cheered on the team.
The Bucks leading scorer was forward Giannis Antetokounmpo with a high 33, despite missing the Bucks’ last game due to concussion protocol. Forward Khris Middleton and guard Malcolm Brogdon scored 16 each.
So many great things happened for the Celtics in this game. In the words of my good friend Dustin, Kyrie “finally looked like himself!” The Celtics guard scored 28 points and had 7 assists and 3 rebounds. Gordon Hayward and Al Horford had 18 each. Marcus Morris pleased Celtics fans by stepping up to the plate with 17 points, which was crucial for the Celtics as Jaylen Brown was out. Jayson Tatum contributed 12, Semi Ojeleye had 10 and single digit scorers included Terry Rozier, Aron Baynes, and Marcus Smart (who I still dislike).
The Celtics had some monster 3’s throughout the whole game, but produced an especially delightful run in the third. Kyrie (twice), Tatum, Horford, and Morris banked away 15 easy points outside the 3 point line in the matter of a few game minutes. In the whole game, 24 3-pointers made sealed a franchise record.
Following the Celtic’s 3-point spree in the third, the Bucks went on a 12 point run in the 4th, bringing the score back to a competitive match-up which made for a great 4th quarter. In the last 25 seconds, the Bucks were only down by two, which made for an exciting defensive end-of-game victory for the C’s.
The Celtics play the Pacers tomorrow at 7pm and the Nuggets on Monday at 9pm.
