Last time we took a peek into my Celtics notebook, the Celtics were on a 6 game win streak and about to play the Wizards. Stay with me here: They won that game by 5 points with Kyrie Irving scoring 38 points. John Wall scored a solid 34 but it wasn’t enough for the Wizards. They lost to the Nets on Friday and beat the Lakers on Sunday. The Celtics beat the Hawks 129 to 108 but then lost to the Pistons. Kyrie led scoring for the C’s in both matchups: 24 against the Hawks and 26 against the Pistons.
The Celtics are now 18-11 and sit comfortably at 5th in the Eastern Conference. Let’s look at some numbers: The Raptors are 23-9, the Bucks are 20-9, the Pacers are 20-10, the 76ers are 20-12. In the conference, the Raptors are 13-5, the Bucks are 13-4, the Pacers are 14-3, the 76ers are 15-10, and the Celtics are 13-6. Feeling comfortable yet? Let’s dive into the division. The Raptors and the Celtics are both 4-2. In their last match-up, the Celtics beat the Raptors 123-116 last month (123-116). Their next match-up is mid-January.
Things to jot down in my Celtic’s Notebook this week:
- Anthony Davis rumors!
- Stevens has replaced Gordon Hayward with Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown with Marcus Smart in the starting line-up.
- I still don’t like Marcus Smart.

Note: Last week, you may have noticed that I wrote that the Washington Wizards were in the Western Conference. I made a booboo. Yes, I know that Washington refers to D.C. and not state. It was a simple mistake! I am in finals season and my brain is jello. Please don’t discredit my basketball knowledge. That’s all!
