Chiefs head coach Andy Reid might just be the real-life Ron Swanson.
Former NFL coach Steve Mariucci chatted with ESPN for an oral history of Reid’s illustrious career, and he shared a story about going out for a steak dinner with Reid years ago in Green Bay. According to Mariucci, they each ordered a monster-sized 40 ounce steak. The challenge set by the restaurant: finish it in under an hour, and you get your photo on the Wall of Fame.
19 minutes after being served, Andy Reid’s steak was gone.
That’s more than two ounces of steak eaten on average per minute. I’m impressed, horrified, and if we’re being honest, more than a little jealous.
How to Annoy Baker Mayfield
A surefire way to get on Baker Mayfield’s bad side: compare him to Antonio Brown.
The Cleveland QB shut down an Instagram user who commented on one of Mayfield’s recent posts hearkening back to his college roots as a walk-on, and I feel confident in saying that snarky Baker Mayfield is the best Baker Mayfield.
Da-yum, Baker. That’s even colder than AB’s cryogenically frozen feet.
Hockey’s back, baby!
Hallelujah! The NHL is back, and to celebrate, NBC shared this cartoon. I can’t stop staring at it, because it truly keeps getting better the longer you look.
So many hockey storylines in one well done cartoon.
(And I’m not ashamed to admit that my longstanding crush on Tyler Seguin is not at all diminished by his cartoon form.)
Jules and Bill’s Excellent Encounter
I’ll leave you to enjoy the rest of your week with this incredible story from Julian Edelman about an unfortunate encounter with Bill Belichick.
(Warning: there’s a single F-bomb toward the end of the video.)
