News of Pondexter’s disappearance first hit Twitter Wednesday night, with one account reporting that she was missing in Chicago in a since-deleted tweet. The same account, who claimed to be a friend of Pondexter’s, later claimed that the guard had been found in another now-deleted Tweet; though D’Arcangelo was able to confirm with police that Pondexter is still missing.
There was a false report released that Cappie Pondexter has been found. Just confirmed that she is still missing. Police are involved. They have a couple of leads.

Cappie Pondexter’s 13 season WNBA career involved stints with the Phoenix Mercury, New York Liberty, Chicago Sky, Los Angeles Sparks and Indiana Fever, retiring in Indiana at the end of the 2018 season.

The Athletic’s Lyndsey D’Arcangelo reports that, per Cappie Pondexter’s assistant, Pondexter is missing in LA. The LAPD is pursuing leads on her disappearance after a missing person’s report was filed last night. Cappie Pondexter’s family had not been made aware of her disappearance until today despite previous reports Pondexter had been missing since Monday
UPDATE: Close friend/assistant said they filed a missing person’s report last night. Cappie Pondexter had no ID on her when she went missing. Family was not aware of her disappearance, is now. Confirmed with LA Sheriff that the case is being handled by LAPD.

TMZ Sports is now reporting that Cappie Pondexter was arrested by the LAPD on Tuesday on battery charges, per a representative with the LAPD. The same representative says that Pondexter “refused to identify herself”, and as such, was booked as a Jane Doe. The same representative claims Pondexter was released several hours ago, on Thursday afternoon. More to come.

Cappie Pondexter is still missing per an update from TMZ. Chuck Walton, a representative close to Pondexter, says that he and others have not been able to make contact with the former WNBA player since she was released from police custody.

A new story by Madeline Kenney and Tom Schuba of the Chicago Sun Times confirms that Cappie Pondexter is no longer considered missing by the LAPD. Further information about the arrest are not public, and there is no update on Pondexter’s whereabouts at this time.

The Athletic’s Lyndsey D’Arcangelo confirms that there have no new updates on Pondexter’s whereabouts from her assistant and friend Chuck Walton following Pondexter’s release from police custody earlier today.

Cappie Pondexter has been found, per The Athletic’s Lyndsey D’Arcangelo, who has been the first point of contact for Pondexter associate Chuck Walton throughout the day. Pondexter is safe per D’Arcangelo, and is with her loved ones.
